SOUTHBURY, Conn. — A man was arrested Friday for allegedly kidnapping a woman and dragging her to his car.
Southbury police responded to a report of an "active domestic violence incident" midday Friday in the area of Elaine Drive and Curt Smith Road.
A resident saw a man drag a woman through a wooded area and force her into a vehicle before speeding away, police said.
Connecticut State Police assisted by tracking the location of the suspect's phone, Southbury police said.
Officers stopped the vehicle near the Southford Falls State Park entrance on Quaker Farms Road.
Police found the victim and the suspect, identified as Brian Lambert, in the vehicle.
Lambert was taken into Southbury police custody and was charged with kidnapping, unlawful restraint, assault, reckless endangerment, threatening, and disorderly conduct.
Lambert was seen in court on Monday where his bond was lowered to $250,000 from $5 million.
