WOLCOTT, Conn. — A Southington man is under arrest after allegedly stabbing a man in the head in Wolcott Thursday evening.
Wolcott police report that around 7:30 p.m., they received a call reporting that an individual on Saddle Road had been stabbed in the head. Upon their arrival, officers confirmed that the male victim had a small laceration on the back of his head. Police said he was alert and conscious.
According to police, the victim and suspect had an earlier dispute over text message, and the suspect said he was coming to Saddle Road.
When the suspect arrived there, "words were exchanged," and the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and struck the victim in the back of the head before fleeing the scene.
Police began searching the area, and Officer Leitao reportedly found the suspect, 30-year-old Austin Baker, of Southington, on Deer Run Lane and placed him under arrest.
Baker was subsequently charged with first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, criminal trespass, threatening and breach of peace. As of 9 p.m. Thursday, he was held on a $100,000 bond.
