BEACON FALLS, Conn. — A third person has died from injuries suffered in an a crash on Route 8 Sunday afternoon that killed two children, said police.
Connecticut State Police said a Honda Civic and a Ford F600 Super Duty were traveling in the left lane northbound a half mile north of Exit 23 when the Ford hit the rear of the Honda. Both ended up in the median against the concrete barrier just north of where they collided.
The two children, ages three and six, riding in the rear seat of the Honda were pronounced dead after arriving at Waterbury Hospital.
The two adults in the Honda were taken to St. Mary's Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Ford was hospitalized with minor injuries.
On Monday, police said the passenger in the Honda Civic, identified as Andresa De Brito Alves, 25, died at Waterbury Hospital.
