NAUGATUCK, Conn. — A threat prompting an investigation at a Naugatuck middle school Wednesday was found non-credible, according to the town's police department.
Police said they received a call at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday about an armed person headed to City Hill Middle School. Officers and "additional resources" immediately went to the area of the school and investigated the threat.
"Precautionary actions" were taken to ensure the school was safe and secure, according to police.
Investigators learned that the threat was not credible and that there is no threat to the community. Police said a large police presence remained at the middle school for the rest of the day.
Wednesday marked Naugatuck Public Schools students' first day back, according to the district calendar.
