Police identify tree worker caught under fallen tree in Cheshire

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating alongside the Cheshire Police Department.

CHESHIRE, Conn. — Local and federal authorities are investigating the death of a tree worker who died when a tree fell on him, Cheshire police said Monday. 

At 4:08 p.m., Cheshire's police and fire departments, along with Trinity Ambulance Service, went to Chipman Drive after receiving a report about the worker.

The worker, identified as Timothy Healy, 50, of Naugatuck, was caught under the tree after it had fallen in an "unintended direction," police said. He was taken to a hospital and died of his injuries.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was called to the scene and is investigating alongside the Cheshire Police Department.
