WATERBURY, Conn. — Four people have died after a fiery head-on crash in Waterbury late Friday evening, according to police.
Police were called to the 600 block of Thomaston Ave. around 11 p.m. Friday for a report of a two-car crash.
It was determined that two cars, an Audi A7 and a Lexus GS300, were traveling on Thomaston Avenue, with one going northbound and the other going south, when they collided head-on in the northbound lane, according to police. The crash caused both cars to catch on fire.
There were three people in one car and one in the other; all four adults were pronounced dead at the scene.
In an update Monday, police identified the driver of the Lexus as Mark Sousa, 44, of Waterbury, who was the only person in the vehicle.
The driver of the Audi was identified as Shar'ref Mahan, 26, of West Hartford and the rear passenger as Danaya Foster, 25, of Waterbury.
The front passenger in the Audi was identified by police Tuesday as Lawrence Jackson, 28, of Waterbury.
Police continue to investigate this fatal crash.
