WATERBURY, Conn. — A man was arrested Monday in Waterbury after police said they determined he shot his wife.
According to the Waterbury Police Department, Jonathan McMillan, 41, is charged with assault in the first degree, criminal use of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, breach of peace in the second degree, criminal possession of pistol or revolver, carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal transfer/sale of a firearm, tampering with physical evidence and reckless endangerment.
Police said they arrived on Perkins Avenue at 12:11 a.m. on Monday after receiving a report about shots fired.
Investigators at the scene learned that McMillan had shot his wife while the two had a "domestic disturbance," according to police.
McMillan's wife was found by officers and taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening gunshot injuries, police said.
McMillan was held on a $1 million bond and was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
