WATERBURY, Conn. — A man died from his injuries after being hit by a car in Waterbury Saturday evening, the town's police department said. The driver was arrested.
Officers received information at 9:49 p.m. about a hit-and-run involving a car that happened on Willow Street. Police said that when they arrived, a man was found lying in the road with life-threatening injuries.
The man, identified as 34-year-old Christopher Coleman, died after being taken to Waterbury Hospital, according to police.
Police said that the driver of the car left the scene after hitting Coleman.
On Sunday, police identified the driver as Christine Mcweeney, 57, of Thomaston. She was arrested for evading responsibility causing death and held on a $250,000 bond.
The Waterbury Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 203-346-3975.
