WATERBURY, Conn. — Waterbury police announced Thursday the arrest of the suspect connected to a shooting inside the Brass Mill Center that injured a 17-year-old last week.
Marcos Gonzalez, Jr., 19, was arrested and is being held on a $1.5 million bond.
Police were called to the mall on Friday, Dec. 8 for a report of shots fired inside after a disturbance in the food court. Officers found a 17-year-old had been shot in the chest. The teen was taken to an area hospital for their injuries. The victim has since been released from the hospital.
This was a "personal conflict" between the two, and a fight involving "numerous people" took place before the shooting, police said.
Gonzalez, Jr. is familiar to police; he is a convicted felon, with larceny charges and connections to auto theft incidents, according to police.
