WATERBURY, Conn. — A serious crash in Waterbury Saturday night left a motorcycle driver in critical condition and a pedestrian with serious injuries, the city's police department said.
Officers went to the area of East Main Street and Williams Street at 9:20 p.m. Saturday after receiving a report about a motorcycle crash with a pedestrian involved, according to police.
A 42-year-old man who was riding the motorcycle at the time of the crash was taken to the hospital in critical condition with "life-threatening injuries," police said. A motorcycle passenger had left the scene before officers arrived.
The pedestrian, a 23-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with "serious, but non-life-threatening injuries," police said.
The cause and events leading up to the crash are currently unknown.
The investigation into the collision is being led by the Waterbury Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit, and anyone with information is asked by police to contact them at 203-346-3975.
