WATERBURY, Conn. — On July 13, around 10 p.m. the Waterbury Police Department responded to an accident that occurred at the intersection of West Main Street and Riverside Street.
According to police, a 51-year-old Waterbury resident was riding his moped when he was struck by a vehicle. He was taken to a nearby hospital and remains in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old woman also from Waterbury, was not injured. There were no other passengers involved in this accident, police said.
The Waterbury Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is investigating the incident. If anyone has any information regarding the accident, they are asked to contact the CRU at (203) 346-3975.
