OLD LYME, Conn. — A 19-year-old man from Westbrook was seriously injured in Old Lyme early Saturday morning when he crashed his Chevy Impala Lt into a vehicle parked in a driveway, according to a release from state police.
State police said David James Willis was driving his 2007 Chevy northbound on Boston Post Road (Route 1). He was near 52 Boston Post Road when he lost control of his car for an unknown reason and veered toward the left shoulder of the roadway around 12:47 a.m., according to the accident report.
Willis’ Chevy then drove into the front yard of 50 Boston Post Road and crashed into an unoccupied 2023 Honda Hr-v Lx in the driveway before continuing forward into an embankment, rolling over and coming to a rest, state police said.
The Oldy Lyme Fire Department and EMS personnel responded to the scene, and Willis was taken by Life Star to Hartford Hospital for serious injuries.
