WEST HAVEN, Conn. — A West Haven man was arrested in Texas on a child porn charge Friday, according to a release from the Department of Justice Tuesday.
Adam Salgado, Jr., 30, of West Haven, is facing a charge by federal criminal complaint of possession of child pornography. He was arrested in San Antonio, where he recently resided, and was released on a $100,000 bond after appearing before a judge in New Haven, the DOJ said.
Citing court documents, the DOJ said that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received CyberTipline reports from a cloud-based storage company that a user, later identified as Salgado, had videos of child sex abuse stored on an account.
Investigators learned there were also images and videos of child sex abuse on a Google account belonging to Salgado, according to the DOJ.
Salgado's charge of possession of child porn carries a maximum prison term of 20 years.
Homeland Security Investigations is investigating with the assistance of the Middletown Police Department, the DOJ said.
Cases of child exploitation can be found via the CyberTipline website here.
