SEYMOUR, Conn. — A woman was seriously injured Tuesday after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the street in Seymour, the town's police department said.
According to police, first responders, including the town's police and fire departments and the Seymour Ambulance Association, arrived at 4:23 p.m. to the intersection of Main Street at Bank Street after receiving a report about a collision involving a pedestrian.
Investigators learned that a 61-year-old woman had been attempting to the cross Main Street when she was hit by a vehicle turning south from Bank Street onto Main Street. She was taken to Waterbury Hospital for serious head injuries, police said.
The driver of the vehicle, who was not injured, remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, according to police.
