MONTVILLE, Conn. — A Milford man was arrested after allegedly driving the wrong way on two state highways in Montville overnight Friday.
Just before 1 a.m., state police were notified of a wrong-way driver traveling west on the eastbound side of Route 2 in Montville. More reports came in as troopers responded, indicating that the vehicle, a Jeep Wrangler, was traveling north on the southbound side of Interstate 395 near Exit 11.
Troopers stopped the Jeep near Exit 14 in Norwich. and found Robert Sylvester 62, of Milford, behind the wheel, state police said.

Sylvester failed the standardized field sobriety tests, state police said.
Sylvester was arrested and charged with DUI, failure to drive in a proper lane and driving the wrong way on a divided highway. He was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 23.
Troopers thank the public for dialing 911 to report the wrong-way driving. State police ask anyone who encounters a vehicle driving in the wrong direction to keep a safe distance away and call 911 as soon as possible.
