PRESTON, Conn. — A man died after a convertible rolled over and landed upside-down in Preston Sunday, according to Connecticut State Police.
State police said they received a report on Sunday at 9:31 a.m. about a vehicle, later determined to be a white 1965 Ford Mustang convertible, that was flipped over near Middle Road in Preston.
Based on preliminary information, investigators said they determined that the Ford was traveling north on Middle Road when it drove into a grassy area on the northbound roadside.
The Ford then drove onto a stone retaining wall, adjacent to the grassy area, with a five-foot drop from Middle Road to the base of the wall, state police said.
After the right tires drove off the wall, the Ford rolled over to its right side and landed upside down, according to state police, who noted that the convertible top had been open at the time.
The driver, identified as Kraig Bressette, 60, died of his injuries, state police said. He was found in the passenger compartment of the Ford.
Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked by state police to contact Trooper Christopher Brett #691 at 860-848-6500x5.
