Firefighters respond to apartment fire in New London

Arriving crews fought much of the fire on the second and third floors and were able to save most of the building.

NEW LONDON, Conn. — Fire crews responded to a second-alarm apartment fire Wednesday evening.

Firefighters were called to 239 Nautilus Drive around 9 p.m. for the fire, according to Norwich Firefighters Local 892.

Arriving crews fought much of the fire on the second and third floors and were able to save most of the building, according to firefighters.

Neighboring fire departments, including units from Electric Boat, responded to the fire.

It is not clear how many residents were displaced.

This is a developing story.
