VERNON, Conn. — A man died from his injuries after a vehicle collided with a moped Wednesday evening, according to the Vernon Police Department.
The crash happened at 7:47 p.m. in the area of Hartford Turnpike and Dobson Road, according to police.
Luis Rodrigues, 54, of South Windsor, died in the crash.
Officers who arrived at the scene found a man lying in the roadway of Hartford Turnpike. Police said that Vernon EMS and the town's fire department also responded to provide medical treatment.
Despite first responders providing medical care, Rodrigues died of his injuries from the crash, according to police.
The driver of the vehicle that collided with the moped remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Vernon police and Metro Traffic Services are investigating the crash, and anyone with information is asked by police to contact them at 860-872-9126.
