1 dead after Killingly structure fire: State police

The CSP Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit was called to assist the local fire marshal with the investigation into the fire.

KILLINGLY, Conn — One person is dead after a fire in Killingly Thursday morning, according to Connecticut State Police.

State police said at 6:55 a.m., investigators from their Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit were called to assist the local fire marshal with an investigation into a structure fire on Robertson Avenue.

Troopers from Troop D in Danielson were called at 7:06 a.m. to the scene to assist the local fire department, according to state police.

One person died in the fire, state police said. They have not been identified at this time.

State police said the investigation is ongoing.
